Volunteer to become a Precinct Committeeman (PCM) or Committeewoman (PCW)

What is a PCM or PCW?

Each county in Florida is divided up into precincts.  In Martin County there are 28 precincts.  Each precinct is allotted representation, based on the precinct population. The PCM and PCW represent their party constituents at the Republican Executive Committee (REC) meetings.   A term for the PCM and PCW begins and expires in Presidential Election years.  Qualified candidates can file and run for the office of PCM and PCW at this time.

To become a PCM or PCW, after a county primary election, a Registered Republican voter can apply to be a PCM or PCW by attending an orientation, signing the loyalty oath, and attending 2 consecutive REC meetings.  The candidate is then considered for membership by the Republican Executive Committee.

So, then what?  There are many ways to volunteer.  Your responsibilities as a PCM or PCW would include some of the following:

  • solicit others to join the Republican Party

  • attend REC monthly meetings

  • volunteer to work on issues, campaigns, or in our headquarters

  • attend and/or promote our events such as our annual Lincoln Day Dinner, Picnic in the Park or other events put on by the REC Events Committee to raise funds and to bring like-minded individuals together

A PCM or PCW should be able to know the issues and candidates supported by the Republican Party and provide help and guidance to other voters in the precinct.

If you are interested in volunteering or just have questions, please give us a call at 772-286-0616.  We are happy to go into more detail.
