Another Return to Sanity under Trump

It sure looks like DEI is dead and nearly buried. We are seeing a return to historical accuracy. The names of U.S. Forts are being returned to the original, such as Fort Bragg, for one. Our nation is taking politics out of naming forts and other things, thanks to The Donald, and, in this case Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth. 

And now we see the names of ships are being established to appropriately reflect history.  

We recall under Vegetable Man's administration a ship had been named for the slain Harvey Milk, former Mayor of San Francisco. Milk, indeed, was briefly a sailor during the Korean War but was forced out of the Navy for being gay. 

It seems being gay was the reason the last administration named the ship after him - as if this were an accomplishment!

More intelligent heads are making decisions now, hence, that ship is now named after a Congressional Medal of Honor winner, 

Oscar V. Peterson, for heroic service in the Battle of the Coral Sea in 1942.

My hope is that this procedure continues to accurately portray history.
